New Postdoctoral Scholar Arrives!

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Audrey Fikes to NC State.  Audrey is a teaching Postdoctoral Scholar in the Chemistry of Life Program and will help develop innovative lecture and laboratory courses at the interface of chemistry and life sciences, in collaboration with the Biotechnology Program.  Audrey was born and raised in the great state of Texas and received her BS in Biochemistry from Abilene Christian University in 2013. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research on synthesizing new osmium-containing metal organic framework precursors. She received her PhD from The University of Texas at Austin where she did research under Prof. Emily Que and worked on developing new chemical for studying cellular iron homeostasis and iron dependent proteins. When not teaching or doing research, Audrey enjoys spending most of her spare time reading.  Welcome Audrey!
